Celestron Sky Maps/Planisphere
Celestron Sky Maps/Planisphere is the ideal beginners' guide to learning the night sky. When you travel to unfamiliar places by car, you would have a road map in hand. The same goes for the sky. Celestron has produced this wonderful guide to the night sky and it is a "perfect" road map to the stars for beginner astronomers.
The front cover of this sky map is a "glow-in-the-dark" planisphere that rotates to simulate the progression of celestial objects during the night and throughout the year. After exposing the planispere to light, either during the day or from a light bulb at night, the stars glow brightly against the dark blue background, simulating the sky at night.
The Sky Maps/Planisphere measure 13 1/4 inches by 11 1/4 inches. The pages are bound together by a spiral binding so they lay flat on your lap or on a table.
There are more than a thousand stars and deep-sky objects listed and charted. There is a reference section where you can learn about night sky and the objects you are looking at.
The Celestron Sky Maps/Planisphere is printed on heavy-weight, moisture resistant card stock so it can used every night of the year outdoors.
